Job summary

American University’s Washington College of Law seeks a Part-Time Circulation Assistant to provide desk coverage and outstanding service at the Circulation Desk. You will handle routine transactions, guide patrons, and support access to library resources while working with students, faculty, alumni, and the public.

You will also assist with space management, equipment checks, and eligibility for course reserves, plus contribute to social media outreach and promotional activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• JD or equivalent preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Access Services Operations and Patron Experience: provide desk coverage, open/close duties, and handle transactions.
• Collections, Spaces, Equipment, and Facilities: monitor rooms, equipment, inventory, and signage; report issues.
• Marketing, Outreach, and Social Media: assist with content for social media, newsletters, and events; participate in orientations and outreach.
• Other Related Duties: perform other duties as assigned.
