Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience researching legal case dispositions; records management in law enforcement/government/court setting.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
• Paralegal certificate completed within one year of hire.
• Must pass CJIS fingerprint background check and meet CJIS eligibility; disqualifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Tracks and catalogues body camera, in-car camera, and other police video/audio.
• Researches and retrieves requested audio/video reproductions for court, open records, and law enforcement requests.
• Researches criminal case dispositions to determine eligibility of releasing records; coordinates with City Attorney's Office on disclosures.
• Mask non-participants, juveniles, victims, confidential informants, and undercover officers.
• Uses software to redact confidential information from audio/video per Texas Public Information Act; redacts non-public segments.
• Troubleshoots and provides technical assistance related to audio/video systems, retention, storage, protection, and retrieval.
• Coordinates with tech professionals and vendors on digital video services/software/hardware.
• Guides others on Texas Public Information Act laws and SAPD policies.
• Assists with procurement and implementation of new equipment/software for collection/storage/security of records.
• Performs related duties as required.
