Qualifications

About the role

The Laundry Porter, also titled Laundry Wash Attendant, processes all laundry to exacting standards.

What you will do

• Operate, wax and clean the Flat Iron Press; shake all linens including pillowcases, napkins, sheets and tablecloths and feed through Flat Iron Press; collect/catch pressed linens when folded; add an additional fold, if required; place all folded linen in cart.

• Operate and clean Towel Press Machine; feed all towels through and collect/catch once pressed; add an additional fold, if required; place all folded towels in cart.

• Identify and separate any stained or torn linens, including pillow cases, napkins, sheets and tablecloths.

• Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of Uniform Room Attendant. Assist Housekeeping Management with weekly stock takes of guest supplies, cleaning supplies and chemicals needed for the cleaning of Front and Back of House areas.

What you bring

• Prior housekeeping or professional cleaning experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.

• Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.

• Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of HotSOS preferred/is a plus.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 lbs.

• Ability to push and maneuver industrial-sized bins weighing to 500 lbs.
