Job summary

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor washing and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer and dryer and place in clean linen carts.
• Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics in the load.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned articles into designated size, either by hand or using folding machine.
• Maintain accurate records of items laundered.
• Follow all company safety and security policies; report accidents and unsafe conditions.
• Follow company policies; maintain clean appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Identify ways to increase efficiency, quality and cost-savings.

Description

The award winning Grandover Resort & Spa, a Wyndham Grand Hotel is currently hiring for a Laundry Attendant. Laundry attendant ensures properly loading and unloading of washers and dryers, sorting and washing linen, handling both soiled and clean items, and assisting final processing once wash loads are completed.

Working Hours: 7 am until 3:30 pm. Weekends and Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor washing and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down elevators, stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors or management.
• Must be able to read and follow operating instructions for commercial washer and dryer as part of operational procedures, this includes machine settings, cycles, and safety instructions to ensure efficient and safe operations.”
• Cleaning moderately wiping down machines, sweeping work areas.
