Position: House Laundry Attendant

Location: Courtyard Amarillo, 8006 I-40 West, Amarillo, TX 79106

Overview

The House Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, ironing, folding, and distributing all soiled linens, towels, napkins, and tablecloths.

Responsibilities

1. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times.
2. Understand the operation of washing machines and dryers.
3. Load and unload washes according to standards.
4. Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc.
5. Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc.
6. Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.
7. Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
8. Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of the day.
9. Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor.
10. Fold towels and linens.
11. Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
12. Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
13. Maintain a clean work area.
14. Sort clean laundry according to type and load carts.
15. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

1. Flexibility and willingness to work long hours sometimes.
2. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to move objects.
3. Ability to stand during entire shift.
4. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which varies according to hotel needs.
5. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
6. Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
