Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Marietta team. No experience is required as you will learn on the job under supervision of senior staff, with paid training and certification fee coverage.

You will conduct field sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, follow industry standards, and report data under guidance. This role offers hands-on growth and a clear path to professional certification.

Qualifications

• No experience required, on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards, leading to certifications.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards and testing equipment.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results; assist with calculations and drafting as needed.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report changes and request testing as needed.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methods and document findings with precision.
