Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Richfield, MN is hiring an Entry-Level School Bus Driver Trainee. You will be paid during the training period and earn post-certification pay of $27.00/hr for SPED routes or $28.00/hr for RegEd routes, with annual increases as you progress.

During the ELDT program you will complete classroom and behind-the-wheel training, learn safety procedures and DOT compliance, and work closely with certified trainers and mentors to build a long-term career in student transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL permit with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (we will help you get there!)
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check (MN DOT/FMCSA compliant)
• Clean driving record
• Dependable and safety-focused
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Military Encouraged to Apply

Responsibilities

• During Training: Complete ELDT program requirements (classroom + behind-the-wheel training)
• Learn safety procedures, DOT compliance, and student transportation best practices
• Work closely with certified trainers and mentors
• After Certification & Route Assignment: Safely transport students to and from school and activities
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Conduct child checks after each route
• Maintain on-time route performance
• Interact professionally with students, parents, and school staff
• Maintain accurate records and a clean, well-maintained vehicle
