Job summary

Transit Team, Inc. in Richfield, MN seeks a CDL Trainer to deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction for CDL applicants and current drivers, preparing them for knowledge tests, pre-trip inspections, and road skills.

This full-time role offers an 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule, year-round work, starting pay of $28.00 per hour and a $3,000 hiring bonus. The trainer will coach, keep records, and cover routes when training demand is low to ensure safe, reliable student transportation.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Must have held a Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements for at least two years.
• Strong knowledge of safe commercial and school bus driving practices.
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction to CDL applicants and drivers.
• Prepare trainees for CDL knowledge, pre-trip inspection, basic vehicle control, and road skills exams.
• Teach safe school bus operation, defensive driving, and student transportation procedures.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Maintain training records and driver files.
• Assist with refresher and safety training for drivers.
• Cover routes or field trips when training demand is low.
