Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Chandler, AZ team. The role involves defining and verifying system safety requirements to keep complex launch systems safe during design, build, test, and operation.

You will interact with internal and external customers, support launch vehicle design, and analyze safety criteria across subsystems. This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of experience OR Master's in STEM with no professional experience.
• Level 3 requires 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and verify System Safety requirements to mitigate risks.
• Understand the mission, launch vehicle, ground support equipment, and safety interfaces.
• Interact with customers and partners on system safety topics and support design decisions.
