Job summary

Magna Engineered Glass is seeking an Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes for new part quotations and launches. You will lead PFMEA, specify and install equipment, and develop Standardized Work and Job Element Sheets with rigorous documentation.

You will provide technical guidance to Sales and customers to influence design for manufacturability, maintain plant layouts, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 3–5 years of related experience/training.
  • Automotive engineering background required; exposure to injection molding, bonding, soldering, assembly, or stamping preferred.
  • Hands-on machine experience with strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic aptitude; troubleshooting a must.
  • Proficiency with GD&T and applying it to stacks/tolerancing.
  • Ability to interpret written/oral instructions, diagrams, and schedules without standard solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end manufacturing processes for new part quotations and launches.
  • Lead or facilitate PFMEA with cross-functional partners to mitigate risk.
  • Specify, source, and introduce new equipment and manage installation and handoff to production.
  • Create Standardized Work, Job Element Sheets, and supporting docs for new processes and equipment.
  • Coordinate projects from kickoff through stabilization as primary contact.
  • Provide technical guidance to Sales and customers to influence product design for manufacturability.
