Job summary

Vitro is seeking a Product Engineer to lead glazing system development at our facilities with possible visits to OEM and supplier centers. You will drive technical PD&E deliverables for windshield, doors, and glass components, ensuring design meets form, fit, and quality while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and at least 3 years leading OEM launches, with strong knowledge of automotive glazing and APQP/TS/IATF processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering (multiple fields) or equivalent with 3+ years OEM launch lead experience.
• Familiarity with Automotive glass, AIAG, APQP requirements, product development and quality processes.
• Supervise design team and ensure release of product designs for tooling kickoff, meeting timelines.
• Excellent English communication; Spanish and OEM language skills desirable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Engineers on glazing projects and coordinate with Product Launch, Validation Engineering and other teams.
• Ensure designs meet customer and regulatory requirements; approve and release prints, specs, tolerances, and interface stack-ups.
• Serve as Design release liaison between OEM and Vitro personnel to address customer needs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing and quality for continuous improvement and problem resolution.
• Ensure APQP/TS/IATF16949 compliance for product engineering activities.
• Support launches during pre-production and production phases, including pre-production parts and BOM review.
• Identify alternatives for part fabrication and assembly processes and support fabrication of pre-production parts.
