Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced team lead for mission, test, and launch operations. You will supervise technicians, plan shift coverage, and ensure work meets strict safety and quality standards.

You’ll provide hands-on support for integration and testing of flight and ground systems, coach staff, and drive continuous improvements while coordinating with engineering and planning teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in frontline supervision directing technicians or operators.
• Experience with complex or hazardous systems (cryogenic, high pressure, etc.).
• Ability to read and follow procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals.
• Strong planning and prioritization for daily team work while meeting safety and quality goals.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools and ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians/operators in day-to-day mission, test, and launch operations with emphasis on safety, quality, and schedule.
• Plan, assign, and monitor work, including shift coverage and overtime.
• Ensure work follows procedures, instructions, drawings, and safety/quality requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support for integration, checkout, test, and operations of flight/ground systems.
• Conduct regular performance check-ins and mentor team members.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and recognition for the team.
• Communicate status, issues, and risks to leadership and partners clearly.
• Drive safety culture; identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to safety, quality, efficiency, repeatability.
• Maintain clean, compliant work areas with 5S and tool/FOD control.
