Job summary

Blue Origin Huntsville site is seeking a hands-on leader to guide technicians in mission and test operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will plan shifts, assign work, and mentor a team across integration and testing activities.

The role requires experience with complex aerospace systems, the ability to interpret technical docs, and willingness to work non-standard hours and travel between Blue Origin sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of frontline leadership directing technicians or operators.
• Experience with mission/flight operations, launch/test operations, aerospace/industrial systems or similar.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation (procedures, drawings, schematics, manuals).
• Proven ability to plan and prioritize daily work for a team while meeting safety, quality, and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians/operators in day-to-day mission, test, and launch operations with focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
• Plan, assign, and monitor work, coverage, overtime, and backup coverage.
• Ensure work follows approved procedures, drawings, and safety/quality requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support for integration, checkout, test, and operations of flight and ground systems.
• Conduct performance check-ins and coach team members; support onboarding and training.
• Communicate status, issues, and risks to leadership and partner teams.
• Drive a strong safety culture and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to increase safety, quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S and tool/FOD control.
