Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Florida, seeks an engineer to support testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of launch vehicle hydraulics systems for New Glenn. You will write and execute test procedures, collaborate across disciplines, and help ensure safety in high-pressure fluid environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on system operation, safety analyses, and timely support to keep launch operations running smoothly; travel and occasional second shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
  • 2+ years relevant experience with design or fluid system operation, including high pressure gas or high pressure hydraulic systems.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans and procedures for hazardous and/or safety critical components.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to build, operate, and maintain a world class launch site and launch vehicle.
  • Author and run procedures for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and fluid system operations.
  • Collaborate on system safety, perform hazards analysis and job hazards analyses; guide work using hierarchy of controls for safety.
  • Operate and maintain launch pad piping systems including hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems.
  • Assist with oversight commissioning and operation of new or modified piping/pressure systems.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Occasional second shift may be necessary.
