Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for launch hardware in Cocoa, FL. You will design and deploy ground support equipment and tooling, using Siemens NX to create detailed designs and documentation, while working hands‑on to support fabrication, testing, and activation in a fast‑paced environment.

The role targets early‑career engineers with 1–2 years of experience who can own projects from concept to deployment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years of mechanical engineering experience (internship/co‑op/professional).
• Ability to create 3D models, drawings, and manufacturing docs.
• Familiar with core mechanical design principles and machine elements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Hands‑on mindset to engage with hardware during fabrication and testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems for launch operations and tooling.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing docs in Siemens NX.
• Own projects from concept through fabrication, testing, and implementation.
• Collaborate with technicians, manufacturing, and other engineers for project success.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic structural analysis to support design decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and design optimization.
