Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Launch Hardware, to design, develop, and deploy launch hardware, tooling, and ground support equipment. You will use Siemens NX to craft detailed models and documentation, while actively supporting fabrication, testing, and activation in a fast-paced setting.

The role targets 1–2 years of experience, with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering; hands-on engineering, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of mechanical engineering experience (internship/co-op/professional).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX to create 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and docs.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems supporting launch operations and ground equipment.
• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing docs in Siemens NX.
• Own projects from concept through fabrication, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with technicians, manufacturing, and other engineers.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic structural analyses.
• Balance tech requirements with cost, schedule, manufacturability, and operations.
• Present solutions in design reviews to leadership.
• Support installation, testing, troubleshooting, and activation of hardware.
• Refine production tooling and ground support equipment for reliability.
• Identify design improvements from field feedback.
