Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Starship Tower, Launch Mount and test stands on the launch pad and test site, contributing to a fully reusable transportation system.

You will drive hardware development from architecture to activation, perform structural and fluid analyses, and collaborate with software and operations teams to ensure reliable, rapid reflown vehicles. This role requires CAD/FEA experience and hands-on assembly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (required).
  • 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical or fluid systems design, analysis, and hands-on assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Drive hardware development for Starship tower, launch mount and test stands from architecture through design, analysis, scheduling, manufacturing and activation.
  • Own design and manufacturing of mechanisms, actuation systems, fluid systems, and large structures.
  • Perform structural, dynamic, thermal and fluids analyses to determine requirements and optimize designs.
  • Collaborate with software and operations engineers to develop robust, fault-tolerant operations for launch environments.
  • Coordinate with Starship and Super Heavy vehicle teams to optimize tower/launch mount integration.
