Qualifications

Job description

Setup and operate conventional and CNC rotor shaft lathes. You will also perform various machining operations on a variety of components from large nuclear to industrial single stage rotors, and work with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and problem solve.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Sound knowledge in the use of mathematics, interpreting complex drawings, specifications and use of various precision machining instruments.
• Associate's degree in machining and minimum 2 years of experience with large CNC lathes OR 5+ years of proven ability.
• Experience with Siemens 840D and Fanuc controls is an asset.
• Experience with live head drilling / milling is an asset.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's degree or trade school certificate is preferred with 6+ years of CNC lathe experience, preferably using steady rest supports.
• Basic knowledge of machine shop operations and ability to understand complex drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
• Ability to use various types of precision measuring instruments and obtain forklift and crane licenses; previous experience preferred.
• Ability to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
• Legal ability to live and work in the United States.
