Yakima County Government in Washington state is seeking a Deputy Sheriff – Regular Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). You will help protect life and property, enforce laws, preserve peace, and direct traffic across assigned districts under supervision of a commanding officer.

Minimum qualifications include CJTC certification, two years of regular government law enforcement service, and, if residing outside WA, CJTC certification with WAC equivalency requirements.

Qualifications

• Certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission as a qualified law enforcement officer.
• Two years of regular service with a bona fide government law enforcement agency.
• If outside Washington, must be CJTC-certified and meet WAC requirements for lateral entry.

Responsabilités

• Protect life and property, suppress crime, enforce laws and ordinances, preserve peace, and direct traffic.
• Work may involve hazardous tasks under emergency and arduous conditions; shift work includes weekends and holidays.
