Job summary

Under the supervision of the School Aged Program Director, this role oversees key latchkey sites and staff, assisting with School Day Out and general program management. This is a 20-30 hour per week position at Wichita YMCA.

The role requires leadership of adult staff and volunteers, ensuring regulatory compliance and high program quality while promoting strong community engagement and YMCA values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
• Minimum of one year supervising staff or volunteers.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or acquire within 30 days of hire.
• Must attend NEO within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA.
• Recruit and maintain enrollment through program promotion and relationships with schools and families.
• Develop and manage staff in areas of responsibility.
• Ensure staff-child ratios meet KDHE requirements and provide substitutes as needed.
• Conduct weekly site visits and inspections for compliance and quality.
• Provide feedback to Site Directors on performance and improvement areas.
• Coach staff on behavior management and family communication.
• Coordinate HR and accounting document completion and accuracy.
• Attend department, branch and citywide meetings and trainings.
