Job summary

Civan Lasers is seeking a Welding Engineer to lead laser welding process development and live demonstrations in our U.S. application lab. You will work closely with R&D and customers to optimize DBL-based welding and support field integration.

You will conduct trials, develop processes, manage demonstrations at the lab and on client sites, and collaborate with sales to support pre-sales technical discussions across industries including shipbuilding, automotive, and aerospace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Science.
• 2+ years hands-on welding process development experience.
• Experience with thick-section welding and welding codes AWS D1.1/ABS is advantageous.
• Familiarity with lab tools and destructive testing techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with a remote cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Develop laser welding processes using DBL technology with optimization and validation.
• Conduct demonstrations for visiting customers at the lab.
• Provide on-site process development support at customer locations.
• Maintain the application lab's readiness including inventory and calibration of equipment.
• Engineer supporting systems: wire feeders, gas delivery, optics, and in-situ sensing.
• Coordinate material and weld testing, including destructive and non-destructive evaluations.
• Document results in reports and communicate with customers.
• Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and customer visits.
• Support pre-sales technical discussions with the sales team.
