Job summary

Epiroc is hiring a Laser Operator to set up and operate laser cutting machines at the Dexter, MI facility. You will produce components meeting customer quality requirements in a fast-paced environment and handle setup, programming retrieval, gases, nozzles, and materials with an emphasis on safety.

The role offers two shifts—first and second—on-site with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and skilled machining tasks. High school diploma and prior laser experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience interpreting technical documentation for problem solving.
• Preferred experience operating laser machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements
• Monitor machine cutting performance and utilization
• Understand machine setup, including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials
• Understand start-up and shutdown for laser machines
• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
• Perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications
• Check the quality of the product machined and notify the supervisor of process issues
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
