Job summary

B- in Watertown, SD is seeking a laser machine operator (metal fabrication) to manufacture metal products using laser cutting equipment. The role includes daily setup and operation of the laser, plus assisting other operators with housekeeping, maintenance and material staging.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown procedures, staging materials, loading/unloading machines, following the production schedule, performing minor maintenance, and keeping equipment and tables clean. EOEO

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.
• Proficient with precision inspection equipment for flat parts.
• Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns is a plus.

• Stage raw materials for production.
• Load and unload laser machines.
• Ensure production schedule adherence as directed by scheduling.
• Conduct minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 10 hour days.

Job summary:

A laser machine operator (metal fabrication) works to manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment. This position is responsible to the daily setup and operations of the laser cutting machine. He/she will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily startup and shutdown procedures of equipment.
• Stage raw materials for the day’s production.
• Load and unload machines.
• Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by scheduling.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment.
• Perform all other duties as required.
• Keeps laser beds clean, so there is no minimal build-up of slag on slots of table.
• Keeps conveyor label clean for smooth operation.

Skills

• Experience with operating laser, cutting machines.
• Ability to inspect flat laser and cut parts with precisions inspection equipment.
• Demonstrate ability to read drawings.
• Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns preferred.

Physical requirements

May have to lift-up to 75 lbs.
