Job summary

FastTrack Staffing is seeking a Laser Operator to join our client's production team in Michigan. You will set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment to produce metal parts according to work orders.

You will read blueprints, monitor the laser, perform quality checks with calipers and tape measures, and document production metrics. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment.
• Able to set up and operate laser machines.
• Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and tapes.
• Proficient with hand tools.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking Laser Operators to become an integral part of our clients team. Laser Operators perform tasks that are essential to our production processes.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment to produce metal parts according to work orders and specifications.
• Load and unload raw sheet metal and materials into the laser machine.
• Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production drawings.
• Monitor the laser during operation and make basic adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Identify and report material, machine, or quality issues to the supervisor or team lead.
• Sort, label, and organize completed parts for the next stage of production.
• Complete production paperwork and record quantities and scrap as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Laser operating experience.
• Ability to properly set up and operate laser machines.
• Working knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and tape measures, etc.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Be able to lift up-to 35 lbs on a regular basis. Occasionally lift up-to 40 lbs.
• Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
