Job summary

Boart Longyear Ltd. is seeking a Surface RC Driller Assistant in Pendleton, OR to support drilling crews. Earn while you learn with paid training, MSHA and First Aid certifications, and a clear path for growth.

Expect 14–20 day shifts with overtime, vehicle and equipment handling, and a strong team culture. Travel to worksites across multiple states is required; valid driver’s license and work authorization are essential.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to worksites across multiple states including Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and more.
• Able to commute long distances for shifts (300+ miles).
• Willing to work in remote locations and in all-weather elements.
• Willing to work 12+ hour shifts for 14–20 days at a time.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and U.S. Work Authorization.
• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Must complete a Physical Fitness Evaluation.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of directly related drilling experience or related positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide semi-skilled labor for drilling crews and operate various equipment as needed.
• Haul supplies to and from drill sites and assist with rigging up/down.
• Mix drilling fluids and make connections by adding/removing drill rods.
• Collect samples and ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage.
• Maintain site equipment, perform routine maintenance and inspections.
• Provide site inductions to visitors and manage inventory of parts.
• Assist in training new drill assistants when required.
