Job summary

3M is seeking a Large Capital Project Manager/Program Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering capital investments over $10M. You will partner with global business units to define requirements and drive cost-effective solutions with an owner’s mindset.

The role requires on-site work at least four days a week in Minnesota, with travel up to 30% domestically/internationally. You will own estimates, scheduling, change management, and ensure EHS compliance while engaging with VP/SVP/CXO

Qualifications

• 10 years of combined experience in capital project management and capital project engineering in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• 5 years designing equipment specifications and construction packages in private/public/government/military environments.
• 5 years leading projects >$10M and communicating risk across stakeholders.
• 5 years communicating with VP/SVP/CXO level stakeholders.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

• Leading several cross-functional project teams to deliver capital investments greater than $10M USD from initial scoping through project completion
• Working with global business partners to define project requirements and identify the most cost-effective solutions with an owner’s mindset
• Leading project execution to meet the stated cost and schedule objectives through development of project execution plans and owning the estimating, scheduling, and change management processes
• Maintaining effective communication and alignment with the project team and stakeholders throughout our stage gate process
• Assuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety standards to deliver robust, safe solutions

Your Skills And Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start). IT and real estate experience is not a fit for this role
• Ten (10) years of combined experience in capital project management and capital project engineering roles in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Five (5) years of experience developing designs, equipment specifications, and construction packages in a private, public, government or military environment
• Five (5) years of previous work experience working on projects > 10M and proactively identifying potential risk, implementing mitigation strategies, and communicating about these risk across stakeholder teams
• Five (5) years of work experience with verbal and written communication and influencing leaders at the VP, SVP, and CXO level

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include

• Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical engineering degree
• PMP Certification
• Track record of successful project leadership in a stage gate capital deployment model
• Prior experience with webline, converting, automation, chemical processing and/or discrete part handling equipment

Work location

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the nearest 3M location

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 - $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
