Job summary

3M is seeking a Global Procurement - PMO Specialist to lead project management initiatives across multiple pillars and regions. The role focuses on delivering productivity improvements through structured PMO practices and cross-functional collaboration.

You will engage with sponsors and senior stakeholders to achieve program goals, manage detailed project plans, and drive cost-saving initiatives while aligning with Enterprise Supply Chain strategies. On-site role at 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Six (6) years of combined experience in Procurement, Project Management and/or Supply Chain in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience in Raw Material/Outsource Manufacturing/Indirect Procurement Category Management within Manufacturing based companies.
  • Strong data analysis, negotiating and problem solving skills.
  • Initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach.
  • Experience successfully collaborating with internal/external stakeholders on complex projects.
  • Process improvement & project management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Project Management leadership for assigned 3M BG and Category Pillar and Projects.
  • Manage PMO goals and objectives to align with Enterprise Supply Chain strategies.
  • Engage with 3M Business supply chain leaders and procurement category leaders globally to achieve productivity goals.
  • Interact with stakeholders in Lab, R&D, Operations and Enterprise supply chain to accelerate productivity projects.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and stakeholders to achieve program goals with cost savings focus.
  • Create detailed project plans with milestones and deliverables.
  • Apply project management best practices and develop new methods/tools as needed.
  • Coordinate across organizational boundaries to influence others toward goals.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline management cadence to track cost.
  • Lead Procurement metrics reviews (Bi-Weekly Pipeline Review, Stage Gate).
  • Lead hopper/gap filling sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support category teams to drive KPIs around cost via pipeline development and reporting.
  • Incorporate change leadership to secure stakeholder buy-in for program success.
  • Drive process improvement in savings pipeline processes.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Project Management Office Leadership
  • Providing Project Management leadership for assigned 3M BG and Category Pillar and Projects
  • Management of PMO goals and objectives to ensure alignment to Enterprise Supply Chain strategies.
  • Directly engagement with 3M Business supply chain leaders, Procurement category leaders across the globe to achieve 3M’s Procurement productivity goals.
  • Direct interaction with 3M stakeholders in Lab, R&D, Operations, Enterprise supply chain to accelerate execution of productivity projects.
Project management & execution
  • Work closely with sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure achievement of program goals, including but not limited to cost savings projects
  • Create detailed project plans with key deliverables and milestones
  • Use project management best practices, and as needed develop new methods and tools
  • Work across organizational boundaries and influence others to achieve project goals
Pipeline Management
  • Develop and manage an effective pipeline management cadence and rigor to track cost
  • Lead Procurement metrics reviews (Bi-Weekly Pipeline Review, Stage Gate, etc… )
  • Lead hopper filling and/or gap filling sessions with cross-functional stakeholders
Shared Responsibility
  • Supporting each category team to drive key KPIs around cost through pipeline development and reporting
  • Work closely with sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure achievement of program goals
  • Use project management best practices, and as needed develop new methods and processes
  • Internal category communications
  • Incorporate change leadership in programs to ensure stakeholders make any necessary changes needed for program success
  • Drive process improvement projects around savings pipeline process
Your Skills And Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

Work location
  • This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
