PlanITROI LLC is seeking a highly skilled Laptop Repair Technician - Tier 3 to join our Center of Excellence in Youngsville, NC. You will diagnose complex hardware issues, perform advanced board-level repairs, and drive efficiency in high-volume repair workflows.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on experience with AIOs, laptops, servers, and Apple/PC devices, with strong ERP documentation discipline and a focus on quality and asset recovery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years troubleshooting and performing repairs at a high production level on AIO, laptops, PCs, smartphones, servers, and tablets.
• Expert-level hardware diagnostics to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex or intermittent hardware failures.
• Advanced board-level and component-level repair capabilities, including power circuitry and system boards.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise models and OEM part numbers for accurate parts orders.
• Proficiency with both Apple and PC ecosystems, including enterprise-grade devices.

LaptopRepair Technician -Tier 3

Position Overview

PlanITROI is seeking highly skilled Tier 3 Laptop Repair Technicians. This role represents the highest technical tier within the repair department, responsible for expert diagnostics, advanced board level repairs, workflow, and supporting strategic decision-making related to asset recovery. This role is ideal for individuals with deep hardware expertise, strong problem-solving ability, are naturally goal driven and the desire to elevate and be part of a team.

Monday- Friday

Hours 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Diagnose complex or intermittent hardware failures
• Repair AIO, laptops, PC’s, tablets, servers, smart phones, tablets and, or, Apple products
• Perform advanced board-level or component-level repairs
• Oversee configuration standards and quality benchmarks
• Assist management with repair vs. liquidation decision strategy
• Help establish repair standards, workflows, and cost-efficiency initiatives
• Monitor repair yield and recommend process improvements
• Ensure accurate inventory movement and ERP compliance
• Support high-priority client builds and custom configurations
• Production Level Goal; 22+ unites daily

Requirements & Experience:

• 3+ years troubleshooting and performing repairs at a high production level on AIO, laptops, PC, Smart Phone, Servers and Tablets
• Expert-level hardware diagnostics with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex or intermittent hardware failures.
• Ability to perform advanced board-level and component-level repairs, including power circuitry, system boards, and micro-component replacements.
• Strong knowledge on Enterprise models and OEM part numbers to ensure accurate parts are being ordered, and parts master are accurate.
• Strong proficiency across both the Apple and PC ecosystems, including enterprise-grade, high-value, and custom-Configured devices.
• Ability to oversee and maintain configuration standards, repair quality benchmarks, and technical accuracy across the repair workflow.
• Skilled in supporting high-priority client builds, custom configurations, and specialized hardware setups
• Ability to evaluate asset condition, repair feasibility, and component-level cost-effectiveness
• Experience supporting leadership with technical insights that influence value-based disposition decisions
• Strong coaching ability and the desire to share your knowledge to support Tier 1 and Tier 2 repair technicians
• Ability to help establish repair standards, workflows, and SOP improvements
• Skilled at monitoring repair yield, diagnosing recurring failure patterns, and recommending process improvements
• Strong process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest workflow enhancements
• Strong documentation discipline to ensure accurate ERP compliance, repair notes, and inventory movement
• Ability to maintain a high-accuracy, high-quality output while supporting production throughput goals
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workstation
• Reliability, punctuality, and a team first attitude to support departmental goals
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
