Job summary

Youth Civic Accelerator in Lansing, Michigan seeks a Lansing Community Coordinator to drive Michigan FIRE Action's civic engagement and youth empowerment initiatives. The role focuses on on-the-ground outreach, events, and membership building with a culture-first approach.

This full-time, exempt position reports to the Regional Organizer and is based in Lansing. It offers $20.75 per hour with 100% employer-paid healthcare, retirement match, stipends, and generous PTO/holiday benefits.

• Enrolled at one of our focus universities.

Responsibilities

• Youth Community and Membership Building (90%): canvassing, attending tabling events, and meeting students in cultural spaces with a culture-first approach.
• Use relational organizing to facilitate 1:1 conversations about how key issues and elections affect students.
• Coordinate event logistics with the Relational Organizer and recruit for events.
• Attend team meetings and regular check-ins to share updates and best practices.
• Support regional data entry as needed.
