Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Supervisor, Language Services to oversee daily operations of the language services department across the network. You will lead staff, ensure high-quality patient interpretation, and collaborate with leadership to drive service improvements.

The role requires an associate’s degree, bilingual ability, 3–5 years in healthcare or customer service, and strong communication and presentation skills. Proficiency with Outlook and Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; bilingual.
• 3–5 years experience in hospital/healthcare, business, hospitality, or customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient daily operations of the department through staffing, workflow and productivity assessments.
• Provides supervision and support for all members of the language services team.
• Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations on hires, transfers, promotions, disciplines, terminations.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies; liaison to language-related third-party companies and vendors.
• Monitors costs, resource usage, and language trends across the system per facility.
• Trains team members on working with interpreters and troubleshoots interpreter-related issues.
• Researches and implements efficient methods for language and cultural services.
