Job summary

Qualifications

• Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Ability to speak & write in English and other language fluently.
• Certification or qualification in medical interpreter training.
• Knowledge and ability to articulate cultural and perceptual factors affecting communication.
• Teamwork oriented and committed to customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients/families and providers to engage in open and clear communication.
• Provides accurate oral interpretation services for non-English speaking patients and families.
• Communicates clearly, courteously, and responsibly with patients, families, providers, hospital staff and visitors.
• Maintains confidentiality and non-bias behavior.
• Uses appropriate standards for the interpretative process.
• Conducts purposeful rounding for outcomes with patients/families.
