Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Language Services Associate Interpreter to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps for patients during admission and registration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Fluent in English and at least one other language.
• Certification or qualification in medical interpreter training.
• Ability to articulate cultural factors affecting communication.
• Demonstrate warmth, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
• Rotating schedule may include weekends/holidays.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, families and providers to engage in clear communication.
• Provide accurate oral interpretation for non-English speaking patients.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with patients, families, providers and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and exhibit non-bias behavior.
• Follow established interpretation standards and processes.
• Support patients through the hospital system and care journey.
