Job summary

Stamford Big Picture Learning Academy is seeking a Humanities Teacher for grades 9-12 to join a mission-driven network of schools.

You will deliver the approved curriculum, plan engaging lessons, and use data to tailor instruction. Collaboration with colleagues and participation in school events are expected, with occasional after-hours responsibilities. A Connecticut teaching certificate is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Connecticut teaching certification required or in process.
• Two years teaching experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach the school-approved curriculum.
• Promptly report to classes at the designated location and times.
• Plan and execute lessons meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Use data to drive instruction and intervention strategies.
• Create a positive learning environment aligned with the mission.
• Maintain records of student work, grades, and progress.
• Communicate with students and parents in a professional manner.
• Provide modifications and accommodations for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a high-quality experience.
• Participate in school events and professional development.
