Position: MathematicsTeacher– Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Grades 9-12

MathematicsTeacherResponsibilities
  • teaching the school-approved curriculum
  • promptly reporting to classes at the location and timesdesignatedby theprincipal
  • planning and executing lessons that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
  • using data to drive instruction and intervention strategies
  • creating a strong, positivelearning environment in alignment with the school mission and model
  • maintainingappropriate recordsof student work, grades, and progressin accordance withschool-approved systems and routines
  • communicating with students and parents/guardiansregardingthe course and instruction,always using a professional manner
  • providing necessary modifications and accommodations for students with special educational needs,in accordance withindividual plans
  • collaborating with colleagues and working with the school as a team to deliver a high-quality experience for every student
  • participating in school events, occasionally outside normal working hours
  • attending professional development sessions and implementing prioritized strategies and techniques in the classroom
  • participating in school committees,and attending faculty meetings
  • supporting the general operations of the school by fulfilling other duties from time to time, as assigned by theprincipal
Qualifications
  • All employees of the school must be fingerprinted and clearedto workprior tothe start date
  • bachelor’s degreerequired, master’sdegree preferred
  • valid Connecticut teaching certification; candidatesin the process of obtainingcertification will be considered
  • firm grasp of the subject matter
  • strong instructional and classroom management skills
  • commitment to continuous learning and ability to accept feedback and work as a team
  • experience working with high school students; two years of teaching experience strongly preferred

Teaching salaries in Connecticutgenerally rangefrom $50,000-$90,000; the salary will becommensuratewith experience, degree and certificationstatus, and other factors.
