Fusion Academy is a fully accredited, private school offering 1-to-1 learning for grades 5-12 in San Francisco. We seek a Humanities & Learning Specialist Teacher to design creative lessons and collaborate with passionate colleagues, shaping schedules and student experiences.

You will mentor students, support social-emotional growth, and partner with families while advancing campus culture and ongoing professional development. This role emphasizes personalized instruction and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or certification in Educational Therapy, Special Education, or a related field (highly preferred).
• Experience with teaching a wide range of courses (English Composition, Literature, Language Arts, World and U.S. History, Government, Economics, Humanities, and Electives).
• Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.
• Deep understanding of special education processes (IEPs, 504s, ISPs).

Responsibilities

• Teach in a truly personalized way - one student at a time.
• Adapt lessons and assessments to meet each learner's needs.
• Mentor each student and support their social-emotional growth.
• Build strong, consistent partnerships with parents and guardians.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to campus life or culture.
• Keep student records accurate and organized.
• Invest in your own growth through reflection, feedback, and ongoing professional development.
• Champion our 1-to-1 model by helping teachers design creative accommodations and personalized strategies for every learner.
• Partner with parents, outside professionals, and campus staff to ensure students receive the right support both in and beyond Fusion.
• Lead and mentor teachers in understanding diverse learning profiles, fostering confidence and expertise across the team.
• Review testing, documentation, and student plans to ensure appropriate accommodations and goals.
• Provide professional development, coaching, and parent education sessions on learning differences and interventions.
• Collaborate with the Head of School on admissions, ensuring each new student can thrive in our environment.
• Teach and maintain a caseload of students.
• Contribute to a campus culture rooted in connection, growth, and belonging.
