Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Medical Interpreter Program Coordinator to advance language access across departments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality interpretation services for patients and families.

The role involves program design, staff education, quality improvement, and reporting, with a focus on regulatory compliance and professional development opportunities for the interpreter team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) years of translation and interpretation experience with fluency in Spanish, English, or another language.
• Certified as a Bridging the Gap (BTG) Medical Interpreter or equivalent at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates design, development and implementation of programs and performance objectives for language access services; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
• Provides education to healthcare staff, patients and families on interpreter services and safe medical care.
• Coordinates quality improvement and professional development, including interpreter/translator certification opportunities.
• Provides support and guidance to team members regarding programs and projects; encourages departmental discussions.
• Coordinates development and maintenance of departmental resources and planning of special events.
• Supports audits to monitor compliance with language access regulatory requirements.
• Participates in committees and projects; may serve in lead or chair capacity.
• Develops and presents comprehensive reports related to ongoing programs, data abstraction and outcome analysis.
