Job summary

Monrovia Plants in Dayton, Oregon is seeking a Grounds Landscaper to maintain and beautify nursery grounds, growing areas, and display gardens. You will plant, prune, weed, mulch, irrigate, and perform general grounds maintenance to uphold Monrovia's standard of excellence.

You will work with the Landscape Coach and Craftsmen on seasonal displays and special projects, ensuring beds and walkways present healthy plant material for sale and customer enjoyment in a morning shift, Monday through

Qualifications

• Experience in planting, pruning, weeding, mulching and general grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic landscaping tools and equipment safely.
• Experience with irrigation systems and plant watering needs is preferred.

About the Role

Monrovia is dedicated to creating a more beautiful world by growing plants of superior quality, and the Landscaper plays a hands-on role in bringing that mission to life at our Dayton, Oregon nursery. The Landscaper maintains the health, appearance, and organization of nursery grounds, growing areas, and display gardens, working closely with the Landscape Coach and fellow Craftsmen to keep plant material presentable, healthy, and ready for sale. This role involves planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, irrigation upkeep, and general grounds maintenance across the property. The Landscaper takes pride in the visual quality of the nursery, understanding that every bed and walkway reflects the Monrovia standard of excellence. Strong attention to detail and a genuine care for plants are essential to success in this role. Occasionally the Landscaper will assist with special projects such as seasonal display installations or supporting other grounds and production teams as needed.

Employment Status

Employment is full-time, Hourly Non-exempt from overtime

Shift

Morning shift between 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Saturday, hours are subject to change based on business need.

• Maintain and beautify nursery grounds, growing areas, and display gardens
• Build hands-on expertise in plant care, irrigation, and grounds maintenance
• Contribute directly to the Grow Beautifully standard customers see and trust

Who You Are

• Working knowledge of planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general grounds maintenance
• Ability to operate and safely maintain basic landscaping tools and equipment
• Basic understanding of irrigation systems and plant watering needs
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Attention to detail and pride in the visual presentation of the nursery
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-motivated and proactive with a can-do attitude and commitment to excellence
• 1+ years of experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or nursery/horticulture work preferred
• General knowledge of plant identification and care practices
• Familiarity with hand tools and small power equipment used in landscaping
• Excellent communication skills - comfortable coordinating with Coaches and fellow Craftsmen
• Willingness to learn new horticultural and grounds-keeping techniques
