Job summary

The City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a landscape technician to perform maintenance across planted areas. Responsibilities include planting, pruning, fertilization, and assisting with irrigation installation.

You will also review planting plans and track work hours, maintaining equipment and following safety guidelines. Required are a High School diploma or GED, 2 years in horticulture, and a valid Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Moderate to heavy lifting and standing for prolonged periods.
• Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
• Two years of experience in horticultural fields such as landscape installation, grounds maintenance, plant production or pest control.
• Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures and guidelines.
• Preferred: Texas herbicide license.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance duties (planting, pruning, fertilization, etc.).
• Assist in trenching and irrigation system installation.
• Maintain and clean equipment and tools.
• Review planting plans and provide updates on plant and insect problems.
• Keep records on man-hour tracking and routine maintenance.
• Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies.
