Job summary

BrightView Landscapes in Hillside, NJ is seeking a Landscaper to provide landscape maintenance support for a range of properties. You will perform basic tasks under supervision and assist with operating commercial landscaping equipment.

Key duties include mowing, pruning, planting, edging, and debris cleanup. You’ll follow safety guidelines, work outdoors in heat, and report hazards to the Crew Leader.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Must be enthusiastic and dependable.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Certified on level 1 equipment: backpack blower, edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower.

Responsibilities

• Cut turf with power mowers and trim/edge using gas-powered tools.
• Prune shrubs and small trees to maintain shape and health.
• Plant and maintain flowerbeds.
• Operate edger and line trimmer along pathways and beds.
• Clean up debris and mulch as needed.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Report unsafe conditions to Crew Leader.
