Job summary

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our Grounds Landscape Crew in West Chicago, IL. You will focus on installation, maintenance, and repair of landscape features, including planting and vegetation management across the district's preserves.

Applicants should have 1–3 years in landscaping and general maintenance, possess a valid IL Class A CDL within 6 months, and may need to travel across the district. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience in maintenance duties and operation of machinery and equipment.
• Illinois Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required within 6 months of employment.
• Current IL Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair landscape features throughout the district's preserves.
• Planting, vegetation management, trailside landscaping, and upkeep of natural areas.
• Bench construction, finishing, and maintenance as needed.
