Job summary

College of DuPage is seeking a Lead Groundskeeper (FT) to oversee landscape maintenance, install and repair hardscapes, manage irrigation tasks, and support athletic field prep on a 273-acre campus near Chicago.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years in turf maintenance, a valid IL driver’s license, and a pesticide license within 6 months. The role entails safety training, equipment operation, and coordination with facilities staff.

Qualifications

• Two years in professional turf maintenance or landscaping.
• Illinois Pesticide Applicator’s license with Turf and Right of Way endorsement within 6 months.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Four years of experience in turf/landscape preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee in-field day-to-day landscaping tasks.
• Coordinate with supervisor, staff, and subcontractors.
• Assist with irrigation programming, maintenance and repair.
• Participate in snow removal operations and seasonal work.
• Maintain equipment and repairs and document work orders.
• Prepare reports and assist with supply estimates.
