Job summary

The City of Bradenton is seeking a Superintendent to lead the Landscape and Grounds Division within the Public Works Section. The role plans, organizes, directs and supervises a large team, manages budgets and coordinates with other divisions and external partners to deliver high-quality facilities and services.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree and at least five years of supervisory experience, strong budgeting and communication skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies

Qualifications

• Two-year Associates degree required with five years supervisory experience.
• Ability to plan, direct and supervise maintenance and projects.
• Strong budgeting, reporting and cost control skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; emergency readiness.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and monitors the Division budget and expenditures.
• Plans, schedules, supervises and evaluates a large staff.
• Ensures facilities meet rules, standards and performance targets.
• Coordinates with other divisions and external partners; reviews plans.
• Manages purchases, requisitions and equipment specifications.
