Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is a family-owned and employee-owned commercial landscape company with operations across multiple states. We seek an Estimator to manage the estimating workflow, review plans, and provide detailed proposals before bid deadlines.

You will work with customers and subcontractors, analyze specs, and prepare takeoffs, pricing, and margins. Strong MS Office skills and 1 year of estimating experience are preferred. This role offers competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Ability to build relationships with subcontractors and customers.
• Experience with estimating software preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 1 year minimum experience preferred, but entry-level acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manage estimating workflow to provide complete proposals before bid deadlines.
• Assist customers with technical information and pricing during pre-construction.
• Review plans and specifications to determine scope of work and production methods.
• Define scopes of work for trades and distribute subcontract bid packages.
• Recommend and review preferred subcontractors to Project Managers.
• Solicit written quotes for hard materials and site furnishings.
• Submit plant lists to Purchaser to be sourced and priced.
• Complete plan take-off and enter bid information into the company’s software.
• Assign or propose profit margins based on pricing guidelines.
• Review bids with Branch and Division Managers based on approval limits.
• Participate in pre-job and post-job meetings.
