Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking an Estimator to lead the estimating process from inception through proposal submission for landscape installation projects. You will review plans, define scopes, solicit pricing, and prepare detailed cost estimates to deliver competitive bids on time.

The role supports pre-construction budgeting and value engineering, collaborating with internal teams to review bid strategy and profit margins, and participating in pre- and post-job meetings to drive project success

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and customers.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to project a professional image and a positive attitude in all situations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer applications, with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estimating software preferred.
• Understanding of business math, budgeting, and reporting principles related to estimating and project costs.
• Minimum one year experience preferred, but not necessary for entry-level candidates.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to define project scopes of work, identify effective production methods, and prepare subcontractor bid packages for distribution.
• Manage estimating workflow to provide complete proposals before bid deadlines.
• Complete quantity take-offs and enter bid information into the companys estimating software.
• Establish recommended profit margins in alignment with current pricing guidelines and project requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend preferred subcontractors for each project in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Solicit written quotes for hard materials and site furnishings.
• Submit plant lists to the Purchaser to be sourced and priced.
• Assist customers with technical information and pricing during pre-construction.
• Review bids with Branch and Region Managers based on approval limits.
• Participate in pre-job and post-job meetings.
