Job summary

Farmscape, LLC in Oakland, CA is hiring for a full-time landscape professional to join a hands-on crew. You will work on residential and commercial landscape construction and installation, perform hardscape, carpentry, planting, grading, and drainage tasks, and help lead the crew to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in landscape construction, experience leading a crew, and knowledge of irrigation, grading, drainage, and planting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in landscape construction or landscape installation.
• Experience leading or helping lead a landscape construction crew.
• Experience with irrigation, grading, drainage, hardscape, carpentry, and planting.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Foreman and crew on residential and commercial landscape construction and installation projects.
• Do hands-on work including hardscape, carpentry, planting, grading, drainage, and irrigation.
• Lead crew members and help keep the work moving safely and on time.
• Use landscape plans, construction drawings, measurements, and grades with help from the Foreman.
• Install, repair, and fix problems with irrigation systems.
• Make lists of parts and materials needed for irrigation and construction work.
• Use landscape construction tools and equipment safely.
• Train and show crew members how to do landscape installation work safely and correctly.
• Help lead the crew when the Foreman is not available.
• Keep the jobsite, tools, equipment, and vehicles clean, organized, and safe.
• Communicate clearly with the Foreman, crew members, and clients.
• Follow safety rules and help make sure the crew works safely.
• Drive between project sites and supply vendors (valid driver's license required)

• Able to use landscape plans, measurements, and grades with direction from the Foreman
• Experience using construction tools and equipment safely
• Able to calculate basic grades and use a laser level
• Able to work well with a crew and communicate clearly with coworkers and clients
• Follows safety rules and takes pride in doing quality work
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 75lbs
• Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
