Job summary

Halliburton in Houston is offering a summer 2027 internship program. The in-person, full-time internship runs 10–14 weeks and begins May 23, 2027.

The program aims to recruit interns with potential to return as full-time hires or in other roles. You will work with Landmark Subsurface Product Management on seismic and geologic interpretation, analyze a newly acquired dataset, and produce a final presentation plus a replication write-up for others in the organization.

Qualifications

• Subsurface data interpretation experience including seismic and well logs.
• Experience leveraging subsurface interpretation tools for geological case studies.
• Ability to collaborate with Product Management and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Landmark Subsurface Product Management to study a new dataset using seismic and geologic interpretation tools.
• Produce a final presentation showing rapid geological interpretation and analysis using our technologies.
• Provide a detailed write-up on how to replicate the presentation for others in the organization.
• Analyze how the new tools enable faster interpretation vs traditional methods with Product Management.
• Compare the new tools to competitive products in the market with Product Management.

What You’ll Do…

This position is located in Houston, TX. Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.

The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time in-person internships. The summer 2027 internship is expected to begin on May 23, 2027.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Work with Landmark Subsurface Product Management to leverage our new seismic & geologic interpretation, analysis, and modeling tools to perform a case study on a newly acquired dataset.
• Produce a final presentation that demonstrates how our technologies can be leveraged for rapid geological interpretation and analysis.
• Provide a detailed write-up of how this presentation can be replicated by other technical professionals in our organization.
• Working with Product Management, provide an analysis on how the new tools enabled rapid interpretation and analysis of the new dataset compared to traditional methods.
• Working with Product Management, provide an analysis on how the new tools compare to competitive products in the market.

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
• Previous experience interpreting subsurface data including both seismic and well logs.
• Previous experience leveraging subsurface interpretation tools for geological case studies.

Desired Qualifications:

• A self-starter with leadership capabilities, innovative ideas and the ability to effectively express ideas to team members, project stakeholders and management.
• Be able to partner with different functions within the Landmark organization such as Product Management, Technical Sales and Research & Development.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.

Salary Range: $26/hour for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; $31/hour for students pursuing a Master’s; $36/hour for those pursuing a PhD
