Job summary

Halliburton invites students to join our internship program at the R&D facilities in Carrollton, TX and Spring, TX. The 10-14 week, full-time, on-site internships begin May 23, 2027, with opportunities to return as full-time or intern in future roles.

We’re looking for students in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related engineering who can work with multidisciplinary teams, use Microsoft Office, and potentially CAD tools like SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university for a degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or [ ] Engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team (electrical, mechanical & software).

What You’ll Do…

These positions are located at our R&D Facilities in Carrollton, Texas and Spring, Texas. Our intern program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire interns back into full-time or return internship roles.

The internship program assignments are 10-14 weeks in duration and are full-time on-site internships.The summer 2027 internship is expected to begin on May 23, 2027.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Projects you could potentially work on include:

• Research, create and test mechanical components
• Contribute to the documentation and delivery of down-hole tools
• Calculation methodology for mechanical equipment
• Proactively learning about new technologies

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

Required Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
• Currently enrolled at an accredited university for a degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or [ ] Engineering
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Ability & desire to work with a multi-disciplinary (electrical, mechanical & software) team

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior intern, co-op, or research experience
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Familiar using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Mathcad (or similar) and simulation software (FEA, Flow Simulation, etc.) a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.

Salary Range: $26/hour for students pursuing aBachelor’sdegree; $31/hour for students pursuing aMaster’sdegree; $36/hour for students pursuing a PhD
