Job summary

Houston County Career Center seeks an Equipment Operator to operate machinery and perform manual tasks related to transporting materials and maintaining county landfills, roads, bridges, and drainage systems.

The role requires a tenth grade education, at least one year of related experience, and valid Georgia Driver's License plus a Georgia CDL Class B. Duties include identifying waste non-compliance, documenting incidents, and supporting Public Services with site visits.

Qualifications

• Completion of tenth grade level education required.
• One year of experience in operating equipment and performing manual labor, or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
• Required to possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License Class B.

Responsibilities

• Identify non-compliance yard waste as described, including items not considered yard waste.
• Identify non-compliance bulk waste and related debris.
• Identify proper or improper solid waste items placed out for collections and ensure containerization.
• Assist with placing bulk waste at curbside by 6:00 AM on collection days.
• Obtain photographs to document non-compliance or missed service.
