Job summary

Republic Services in Tennessee is hiring an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations, performing tasks such as loading, spreading, covering, and compacting waste.

You will complete inspections, monitor equipment and waste quality, perform minor servicing, document reports, and uphold all safety policies. The role requires at least two years of related experience and OSHA-site exposure.

Qualifications

Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy.
Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader.
Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
Perform minor service on equipment and refer major issues to Maintenance.
Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
Follow all safety policies and keep shop clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
