Job summary

GFL Industries in Sedalia, Missouri is seeking an experienced equipment operator to safely operate heavy machinery such as excavators, front loaders, and bulldozers to bale, load, and move waste material at our site. You will conduct daily inspections, perform lubrication and fluid checks, and communicate using two-way radios to coordinate daily activities.

A forklift certification is required, and a Transfer Station/Landfill Certification may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required.
• Completion of forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks of equipment.
• Grease, lubricate and check fluids daily.
• Steer and operate machinery as assigned at the site.
• Substitute for another operator as needed and assist with safety meetings.
